About This Site
Well, I'd like to tell you its my fine prose and Dub's
fabulous pictures that make this site profitable. I'm sure that's
part of it:) PLEASE - we need some strokes.
Developing and maintaining a
website is a HUUUUGGGE (I'm not sure I made that long enough)
undertaking.
That is...until I discovered SiteSell.
THE RISE...
If you read the About Us
page, you'll see that we created our first travel site in 1995.
FunTripsLIVE has a big audience and a lot of newsletter
subscribers. This is not an accident. It became my personal
project to learn how to market a website and attract subscribers to our
newsletter. I spent months and months and many, many dollars
buying fine products to make the site friendly to both search engines
and humans.
In February of 2001, FunTripsLIVE was in
the top 1% of all websites! And yes, I'm rather proud of
that fact.
AND THE FALL...
But here's the problem. I couldn't keep it
up. To make a website work - bring traffic and earn a few bucks -
is a tremendous job.
It means that not only must you be finding and
using the right keywords, but you must have them strategically
placed into each web page - and each search engine has a
different set of rules, which means building pages for each
engine. And that's just the start.
Then there are all the other meta tags,
headlines, body content, regular submissions to search engines,
following pay-per-click programs, submitting to directories,
writing articles, keeping track of ezine ads, writing
newsletters, building affiliate programs, and on top of all
that...the internet is a wild frontier! Just when you
think you've got the search engines and techniques all figured
out - they change.
FunTripsLIVE began to suffer. As have
many millions of websites - it just isn't as easy as [you may
have heard]. I had to find another way.
THE SEARCH FOR A BETTER MOUSETRAP
WAY
As I mentioned above, I had already purchased tons of
software and internet marketing aids - subscriptions, ebooks,
consulting, affiliate programs. I studied and implemented
all the techniques. But it all boiled down to one
thing. Internet marketing is a full time job. And if
you focus on that, what happens to your business? You get
it. I simply didn't have the time.
So then what's the use of having a website
when nobody comes? The KEY to website success is TRAFFIC
(and a great website, of course. But you already knew that
part).
SIn my quest to become an internet
marketing guru (before I knew it would suck the life out of
me:), I happened on SiteSell. But I was pretty jaded at
that point, and very reluctant to fork out any more money on
another learning curve and more 'stuff' to keep up.
What fascinated me, however, was that most of
the [real] marketing gurus gave it high reviews. At first
I thought they all just patted each other on the back and made
commissions by selling each others products. But since
SiteSell was just about the only product I hadn't tried -
and, probably more importantly, had several free
courses that sounded useful and interesting to download
- I began exploring.
Frankly, it sounded too good to be
true.
TOP 10 REASONS TO USE SITESELL
See what you think. Here are are just a few (I'm serious)
of the promises:
-
Makes website
construction a breeze
-

keywords with a click which keeps your site ranking high
in search engine traffic
-
Analyses and
makes suggestions to your pages for search engine
optimization with another click
-
Automatically
submits your pages on a regular schedule to the search
engines
-
Organizes your
pay per click campaigns
-
Organizes your
email newsletter campaign
-
Tracks your
visitors - how many, where they come from, what keyword
they used
-
Provides
tracking of your promotional efforts - ezine ads, etc
-
Hosts the
website (includes domain and email)
-
NO 1 reason for
using SiteSell (for me): Keeps track of all the
search engine changes and helps you easily adapt your
pages to stay on top!
THE HESITATOR
The free
stuff got me very charged up - it all sounded so 'doable.'
Did I order? No - what a procrastinator (the disease you
get from being burned and exhausted from internet
marketing). What I did do, was buy the book,
Make Your Site Sell - again, too good to be true. I
mean, 800 pages of valuable information for under $30.00?
Come on now. OK - now I know. Ken Envoy, who is the
Man in Charge at SiteSell has a motto that works. OVER
DELIVER. He does.
THE LEAP
So, having no more excuses, I decided to take the Cabo feature
out of FunTripsLIVE and try it out. (I didn't do the whole
site, because there is so much updating to be done, that I
thought I'd start with one section and see how it did).
Well, guess what? SiteSell
actually does it all. And much more! With NO effort from
me. Do I think it's worth it? Oh, yeesssssss. There
I go again. SiteSell
keeps me up with the engines now, tracks my progress, and
supplies all sorts of advice, which relieves me of a gigantic
amount of time.
I'm going to admit that I did
not purchase the system for almost a full year after I found
it. I was pretty skeptical by then. Now I'm
scrambling to get FunTripsLIVE back up to speed because we are
getting so much more traffic on this site which is just one
segment of FunTripsLIVE, but with a domain that is targeted
(meaning that the people who visit have some kind of interest in
Cabo San Lucas).
And revenue? Well,
remember what I said above about what makes a website
successful? A LOT of traffic. That means you can't
spend any time on a website that isn't in some way generating
traffic.
YOUR TURN
Check it out for yourself. Follow this
link to see how other SiteSell users in your business
are ranking. You can download a FREE
trial and look it
over. But PLEASE...don't wait the year that I did - I am kicking
myself. GO! Right now - get traffic and make
sales. Isn't that why you have a website?

You can thank
me later:)
Or if you're
really skeptical as I was, download and read some of the great
freebies. They are worth every minute of your time and you
will not spend a cent.
See ya on the
net!
