The next day we say goodbye to Gene, our yurt, the friends we made at the Goat Ranch and the reclusive calm of Buena Vista and head back to Cabo San Lucas.

San Jose del Cabo del Cabo is on the way, about 45 minutes from Cabo, so we decide to look around and see what it's all about

San Jose, as it's short-termed, is, to some, the vacation of choice over Cabo San Lucas. Luxury resorts line the beautiful and pristine beaches, golf courses are plentiful and the atmosphere is quieter and more reclusive than the Cabo San Lucas party town a few miles south.

In the downtown, however, there is no hint of luxury getaways, pampering and self indulgence. Instead, the quaint town, with old streets and rundown buildings reeks of history and small town charm.

The county seat of Los Cabos, San Jose is proud of the 1927 City Hall and just a few minutes outside of town, the only freshwater estuary lives untouched with lush palm trees, and bamboo.
