Cabo San Lucas Tour

In Cabo, Life Is a Beach...and a Water Taxi
Climb aboard for a unique Cabo San Lucas tour of the famous Arch (El Arco).

The ride over takes about 15 minutes.  Before five have passed, our 'captain' slows the boat, peels off his shirt, grins at us and mutters something in Spanish.

Our language skills are rusty, (meaning we can't understand a thing he says).  We stare incoherently, he grins some more and points with glee toward the water.  Suddenly we get it.

He wants to go for a swim.  Why?  Because he feels like it.  Either he's hot or he just can't resist the Sea.

El Arco - on very rare occasions - about once every 4 or 5 years - the water recedes and you can walk beneath the Arch

We nod in agreement and he dives in and splashes around for a few minutes before climbing back in the boat, totally refreshed.

Knowing that we want to take photos, he thoughtfully guides us to the best spots and maneuvers as close as he can so we see close ups of the seals and the pelicans.

Near Lover's Beach, he slows again and pulls out a bag of crunched up snacks which he throws in the water.  Instantly a swarm of outrageously colored fish appear and race furiously for the treats.  We oooh and aaah with genuine delight, so he keeps doing it until we're satisfied.

As we move toward The Arch the water gets rougher and the little boat rocks and rolls against the powerful pull of the ocean.  I'm wondering if we should have been given life jackets.

How tacky of me. I shift into my dangerous and risky self.

Cabo is the place where the Sea meets the Ocean, they both meet land and the sky umbrellas them all.  This IS Land's End - Finesterra - and this IS Cabos' claim to fame.

As many times as I have seen pictures of The Arch, there is no comparison to being within yards of its stature.

Seeing it rise up in the midst of the ocean,  is an awesome experience.

As we get closer, we see it is detailed with creases and crevices.  Waves splash relentlessly against it as though tending to its beauty.

El Arco - The Arch - is a spectacular statement - by God, I suppose - marking the end of creation in one sense and the beginning of another.
